This introductory series will no doubt take you and your horse to an entirely new level of partnership. After years of study under the great horsemen and horsewomen of our time, Shannon Beaty shares her vast experience and knowledge of the horse, which she considers to be “one of God’s greatest gifts to Mankind”, with you. Shannon’s love of the horse and her gift of communication and understanding, make this an affordable fun-filled day of learning.

SCHEDULE:
Morning Session- Foundation Groundwork:
9:00AM – 12:30PM
Whether you’re new to horses or have been riding for years, this valuable experience will help you and you horse develop strong, effective communication through mastering “horse-logical” ground movements. Discover why getting positive responses (aka- good ground manners) on the lead rope by moving the horse’s feet delivers real results (i.e easy to catch, willing to load etc.) but also develops into lightness and fluidity in the saddle.

INSTRUCTORS NOTE- “I recommend a good rope halter and 12’ braided yacht or climbing style lead rope. Wide band nylon halters will not get the results you need from groundwork. Double Diamond brand (Buck Brannaman collection) rope halters available at Murdochs and Brighton Feed”.

LUNCH-
Enjoy a ranch style feast of flame grilled beef brisket, campfire beans & fresh potato salad topped off with homemade apple pie (best enjoyed while taking in the beautiful views from Creekside Ranch). Cost $6.00 (includes beverage)

AFTERNOON SESSION- Horsemanship- Mounted Communication
1:30PM – 4:00PM
Building from the morning session, we saddle-up (you’ll learn the right way) and start applying effective groundwork to mounted communication. Learn safety as a first priority and discover how the horse gains confidence in you when you become confident in yourself. If things shape-up right, this session ends with a nice trail ride!

INSTRUCTORS NOTE- “Please be aware that this is not a colt starting class- you should be able to saddle, mount and walk & trot your horse, thank you”.

Overnight stalls available- $20.00 per horse (you feed and clean stall)
